Ruby O Ruby !

Time to swing to this song from Chaahat by Lata and Mukesh which was incidentally released in the same year that we all entered the IITB campus and started our lifelong affair.

That’s right!!! It is that time again. Time to leave your mundane worries home and relive those wonderful five years we spent in each other’s company. We may have been a bit “jaded” especially after the last reunion but now Ruby beckons.

Time, dear old Albert had said, is a relative thing. With some relatives (especially in-laws), it tends to crawl along. But past five years have just been a blur. It was just yesterday that we were all at Panoramic Resorts at Karnala. Who can forget those nostalgia nites, one with karaoke and the other one with Shreekant Pargaonkar who transported us back to the enchanting times with Talat. All of us present there had promised ourselves that there has to be an encore to that event. We had hoped that we could do it pretty much sooner than the five years it has taken us. But then all of us have been busy, some busy scaling new heights, some wrapping up their professional careers in anticipation of spending more time with our loved ones.

Now it is time to set all those things aside for a few days and get back in the 70’s mood.  And what better place than Goa to get you all in the proper mood? The Goa team consisting of Dinar Bhatkar and Satish Kini, has lined up the best deal that the Sozzled State can offer (what else can you call a state where the number of bars outnumber the residents?).

Some may claim that it is time to take stock. (one can just hear Jagjeet Singh singing ‘kya humne paaya hai, kya humne khoyaa hai). So “stock” we will take. Bring along all the Single Malts and Champagnes that you have been hoarding for a special occasion. For an occasion more special than this is hard to come by.

So with a twist to what Lata sings in Ruby O Ruby, “ab na kar intazaar, kyonki hum tum mein yaar, honewaala hein Ruby”
