Euphoria’s frontman Palash Sen to sue IIT-Bombay?

Palash Sen, Euphoria's frontman, has sent a legal notice to IIT-Bombay after his band was blacklisted by the institute, following a student, Arpita Phukan Biswas, writing a blog saying that Palash's comment about women was sexist.

The band had performed at Mood Indigo, the IIT Bombay fest, on December 21. Palash told us, "My point was that when I tried to speak to that girl, she didn't want to speak to me. Nobody from the IIT-Bombay management called me. They suddenly announced in the media that we have been blacklisted. There was no inquiry, no clarification sought. They didn't try and listen to my side of the story."

In the legal notice sent to the IIT director on December 27, Palash sought a clarification from the institute on things like, 'On what basis did IIT-B take the serious decision of blacklisting a renowned musician and publicly announcing the same?', 'Before taking the decision, why did IIT-B not seek a clarification?' Palash says, "We sent them a legal notice and gave them three days' time to respond. The IIT-Bombay management has turned out to be the jury, the prosecution and the witness. Till January 6, we had no response from them, and now we will take legal action against them. I need to clear my name."
